Anba Dlo is Kréyol for “From Beneath the Waters.” It refers to the realm of departed souls. The time of year around All Hallows Eve, the day of remembrance for the departed, is a time to call these souls forth.

The Anba Dlo IV costume parade will line up at 5:30 pm at the corner of Royal & Franklin and start at 6 pm. Led by the Radical Faeries and featuring the Muffalottas, the Cherry Bombs, and Skinz n’ Bonez, everyone is invited to join this kick-off to the celebration! See the Parade Route Here.

Four music stages will be set up in different areas of the healing center. This year’s festival will boast performers such as Papa Grows Funk, Lynn Drury, Felice and the Overtakers, Coco Robichaux, 101 Runners, and Chuck Perkins and The Voices of the Big Easy on the Main Stage.  The Sacred Music Stage will host Alexandra Scott & Michael Millet’s Mountain Gospel, Moyuba featuring Michael Skinkus and Kora Konnection.  At Café Fatoush, the Blues and Burlesque Stage will feature Victoria Blackstone, Prrrlesque, and King James.  And our DJ Line-up is Tom Harvey, Alberto Martinez, David Coleman, and Native Intelligence.

*Anna Morris of the Movement Room will be sponsoring several neon interpretive and improvisational dancers including her crew, the Dancing Hellbenders.  Acrobats Marion Ette and Aaron will be performing amongst the crowd around the building.

*There will be a silent auction with many wonderful articles to bid on including, but not limited to: Hyperbaric Treatments, a weekend stay at a West Village New York apartment, a Michalopoulos painting, and various dinners at many of our finest restaurants.
